Requirements;
-WV Firefighter Level 1
-WV Firefighter Level 2
-Minimum of 3 years experience in the fire service is mandatory
Duties;
-Preside and officiate in the absence of the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Deputy Chief
-Serve as fire equipment officer and shall see that all apparatus and equipment are arranged and maintained to permit efficient fire ground operations
-Issue, as necessary, the proper protective equipment to all members of the department. The Captain shall keep an accurate account of all department equipment issued to individual members
-Keep an accurate account of the equipment carried on the apparatus. The Captain shall make regular reports to the Chief regarding the general condition of the equipment and make recommendations to replace equipment as necessary
-The Captain will perform other duties as directed by the Chief
