Requirements;
-WV Firefighter Level 1
-WV Firefighter Level 2
-WV EMT or Paramedic (does not have to be a current certification)
-Minimum of 4 years experience in the fire service is mandatory
Duties;
-Preside and officiate in the absence of the Chief
-Prepare monthly reports for the Chief regarding department activities such as inspections, fire reports, fire causes, and losses, and fire prevention activites. The Assistant Chief shall also prepare a similar annual report
-Maintain a personnel roster of all members providing essential information including age, address, date of appointment, assignment, injuries, meeting and training attendance records
-At the direction of the Chief, the Assistant Chief shall investigate all fires to determine the cause and damage for department records
-The Assistant Chief will perform other duties as directed by the Chief
